In This House : a new booklet
Check out the new challenge blog here !
This is my new booklet with ten In This House-projects.
It is made out of recycled items : an empty spiralbound
block of Tim Holtz-tags, a craft envelope, a brown paper
bag and pages from an old music-book.
I might add some embellishments later, but i am still
pondering if i want to. The contents are as follows :
Want to read everything about Coneberry Village ?
Read the Coneberry Chronicle here !

Homemade "washitape"
Check out the new challenge blog here !
I am guessing you all know about the all new and fun japanese
washitape. Being semi-translucent, available in many colours
and designs it is perfect for crafting projects and decorating
envelopes. There is one thing though : it is quite expensive.
I therefor wanted to try something : using silkpaper and
toplayers of napkins to create my own "washitape".
And you know what ? It works ! These pieces on the picture
are just small try-outs but i will be sure to post some
more examples later on.

Sankthansaften
Last wednesday, on the 23rd of June, we celebrated
Sankthansaften here in Norway. The day is also called
Jonsok, which means "John's wake", important in
Roman Catholic times with pilgrimages to churches and
holy springs. Today, however, Sankthansaften is largely
regarded as a secular or even pre-Christian event.
In most places the main event is an outdoor picnic (with
barbeque) in the evening and the burning of a large bonfire.
The celebrations usually go on til deep in the night since it
does not get dark at this time of year in Norway.
It is said that if a girl puts flowers under her
pillow that night, she will dream of her future
husband. If you want to read more about this and other
related celebrations, click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midsummer.

Something new
When on a walking trip i saw something new : i was
walking along the riverbank when i heard a rustle
straight ahead, and some more when i got closer
to the spot i heard the first rustle from. Then a big
deer jumped into the river (it took quite a dive) and
it swam / hopped to the other side. I hope i did not
scare it too much !

My porcelain flower is flowering
Look how pretty my porcelain flower (porseleinbloem /
porselensblomst) is flowering. The outer petals of the flower
look like they are made of pink velvet, i think they are
gorgeous.
This plant is also known as Hoya Carnosa and you can find
more information on these plants here.

New Clouds
About two weeks ago i saw some really strange clouds. The
weirdest thing was that i saw them from a plane first and
some days later from the ground, what a coincidence.
These types of clouds are called lenticularis and are
lenseshaped : thin at the rim, thick in the middle.
If you want to learn more about these types of clouds, check
out : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenticular_cloud
