My Crafty Family : Part IV

Some more pictures from the activities my crafty family
has been working with :


My father made this groovy lamp for his new office.
His office is positioned under the sloping roof, so the
picture might look a bit awkward.


My sister made this easterlight for me. It looks
really nice when a tealight is burning in it.


My aunt sewed this small scent bag for me. It
has two pieces of soap in it so it smells lovely.
I keep it in one of my clothesdrawers so everytime
i open it to take something out, it smells great.

Recyle Craft Redo

I redid these tealight holders made out of empty pastasauce
glasses. I made the original ones a long time ago, but they
did not look very nice anymore because of dust and
decoloration of the paper i used. So i made them again and
since i like them so much i thought i would post them anew.
I used empty pastasauce glasses, baking paper, thread and
pinecones i collected.

ATC's : Halloween

This is one of last year's Halloween ATC's that i had
not posted yet. It is made from sheet, cardstock, paper,
ribbon and decoration leaves.

Retro Chestnut Craft

One of my alltime favorite crafts is this : making
spiderwebs out of chestnuts using wooden picks,
wool and ofcourse chestnuts. This one is standing
leaning against the wall but you can also hang them
in front of the window or a wall.

My Ploesie Poesies

Here are my three Ploesie Poesies, sitting snuggly
together on the sofa. Before they moved in here
they did some PR-work on some local faires :

So all i mean to say is : my Ploesie Poesies
are famous !!

Autumn Card

In honour of the arrival of autumn i made Autumn Cards
and sent them to wish the recipiants a Happy Autumn.
The cards are made from Scrapbooking paper and small
buttons. Each card consists of two owls that are hanging
from bits of rope and are joined together by a piece of ribbon.

Halloween Sylvanian

The first Halloween Craft of this year, is this
Altered Sylvanian. I can truly say he is not nearly
as sweet now, as he used to be. He is cute tho,
ready for trick-or-treating. With his flapping bat
on a wire, he will surely scare a lot of people !

Recycle Craft : Soft Lights

These two Soft Lights i made myself, and you will never
guess what they are made of. I made them from two empty
bottles which used to contain washing up liquid. I used the
larger variety, 750 ml, they are more than wide enough,
but i do not know how the smaller bottles will react to the
warmth of the tealight inside. The smaller bottles might
be too slim so to say. I find this a really cute Recycle Craft
and i will be experimenting with other empty bottles for sure !
Think about using glass paint on them, or embellishments or ...

More Tøfler

I finished another pair of Tøfler in black and two
tones of grey. They have become really warm and
thick and cozy. These you make using the felting-in-
your-washingmachine-technique i posted earlier. All
colour combinations are possible, the only limits are
those of your imagination.

Where do you get your wool ?

I get most of my wool from this factory. I know it does
not look like a factory, but that is because this is the front
part of the collection of buildings. It looks sweet, does it not ?

Inside there is a huge collection of wool, cotton, patterns,
needles in all shapes and sizes and ready knitted Norwegian
Sweaters. There is also a café where you can eat and drink
something.

My Crafty Family : Part III

I have written before that i come from a very crafty
family. I can not even begin to sum up all the crafty stuff
we have been up to. My uncle is a very gifted crafter and
amongst his many talents are needlepoint, knitting and
crochet. He is very thorough when it comes to following
patterns and he will unravel an almost done project when
he finds a mistake he made in the very beginning.
One of his most recent projects was this cotton top he made
for my aunt, lucky girl !

Nijmegen 2008

As you might have read, have we participated in the
Nijmegen-Four-Day-Marches again. We participated
for the fourth time, but since the second time we
participated, the Marches were cancelled after
Day One, we recieved a Number 3 this year.



My sister, my dad, my mum and me on Day Three.
The weather could have been (much !) better, but that
is something you do not get to pick and choose. We all
walked the 4 x 40 km, although my mum and dad are
allowed to walk the 4 x 30 km. But it is ofcourse much
more fun to walk together !

Inspirationbook : Part II

I have been keeping Inspiration Books for as long
as i can remember, but for this one i did something
special. I made a "happy" collage for the front of the
book. I used a lot of tropical pictures i found in travel
catalogues and glued them to the front of my current
book. I will soon have to start a new one though,
because this one is already overflowing and bursting
out of its seam.

Ploesie Poesies

Last summer i ordered some Ploesie Poesies. I can
hear you thinking : you ordered what ? Ploesie Poesies
are an exact copy (in plush) of your cat. This is also an
extremely nice way to remember the cat(s) you have
lost in the past. So i ordered five Ploesies, three for
myself and two for my sister and her boyfriend.



The two cats highest on this page are Fritsie I and II
(i know, im not the best inventor of names). The one
in the middle is Menno and the ones underneath the
text are Kareltje and Bonkie. Kareltje and Bonkie are
living with my sister and her boyfriend. Even though
they are not with us in body, they are now still with
us every day in our hearts and in plush.

More Recycle Craft

As our world is overflowing with our waste, it becomes more and
more important to recylce and that is just what i have been doing
I made some more envelopes. How many envelopes can a person
need u may ask, but i say, you can never have too many
stationary bits ! When i choose pages for these envelopes, i tend
to go for the ones with little or no lettering on it, but that is very
personal ofcourse.

Crochet Hat

I finished this Crochet Hat last sunday. Its a "design" of my own,
made entirely according to the headsize of the wearer. What i
mean to say is that i fitted the hat while i was crocheting so i did
not follow a pattern or anything. This will make it fit like a
tailored glove, but if i should want to make another, i will have
to fit it all over again.

Mah-Jong fun

As mentioned before, our family is very fond of the game
of Mah-Jong. All of our family members have atleast one
game, but there are several that have many. With the
playing of the game comes ofcourse the love for a pretty
game and to acquire a new gameset is just sheer fun.



Last week my father had such fun. He has come into the
posession of the game that is shown in these photographs.

ATC-box

I made this ATC-box today, to house the ATC's that
are waiting to be sent out into the world. I think it
has become quite cute :D
