Happy Queensday !

A New Bird

Today i met this bird. I had never seen it before in my
life so that was kind of special ! It is called Carduelis Flammea
and if you want to know more about it, just search in Wikipedia.

ATC-card

I made this ATC-card for my friends' birthday.
It is a card with a cut out space to mount an ATC
on. I think it looks nice with the light blue
combined with the colourful ATC.

Doctor Who Bookmark

If you enjoyed making a Harry Potter bookmark,
how about a Doctor Who one ? The patterns from
the various seasons are posted underneath. Ofcourse
you can choose to make it a bit shorter than the patterns
since they are quite long.

Krimpie Dinkie Fun

I made this ... thing, from a yoghurt container out of
which i cut the bottom part. You can use it as a ... ehm ...
oh you can hang it on your keychain. Or use it as a coaster
but maybe it would be better serving as a coaster when
i had not cut out the bottom. Well anyway, it was fun to
see it shrink in the oven !

Krimpie Dinkie Tryout : Part II

More shrunken yoghurt-container-fun. Again it did
not turn out the way i wanted it, what is new, but i
found out that the temperature to shrink on can be as
"low" as 150 degrees celcius, and as a bonus your
plastic wil shrink in a controled fashion. Back to eating
yoghurt now, so that i have more material to test.

Cards of Christmas Past

Some cards from Christmas Past made with
stamps from one of my favorite stamp designers.



Christine Adolph has designed this series of stamps
for Stampington and i have had lots of fun with them
already.



There now is a set of clear stamps available
from this series that i still need to have, they
are smaller than the first series and therefor
ideal to use on ATC's.

Recycle Craft

I am very much into crafts that recycle stuff, give
is a second life so to say. BUT i do not want to reuse
stuff that will not give me a hundred percent great
result, i do consider quality a very important aspect.
I am quite content with the result of this batch of
enevelopes though. They are recycled pages from
magazines and i think they look cool. If i would get
a postcard or letter in an envelope like this, i would
keep them both.

Cat Card

I made a card to send to my sister. The colours i
choose with something in the back of my mind :
they are somewhat like the colours of the cat she
lost last friday. I thought that would make the
card extra special for such an occasion.

Inspiration Book

One thing that is a must for all crafters is an Inspiration Book,
or an Idea Book if you will. Take a blank journal en decorate it.
Then, make sections in the book so that you can keep your ideas
a bit organised, do not overdo it tho ;) Then just collect all
pictures and clips and cards and brochures that you find pretty
or inspirational and glue them in your book. It is the perfect way
to deal with a Crafter's Block because you will always find
something in there that is stimulating. Enjoy !

A sad day

Today was a very sad day. After a few weeks of visiting
vets and trying to find out what was wrong with her,
my sister and her boyfriend have had to let go of one of
their beloved cats, Bonkie. She was a very special cat that
made an impression on anyone that ever met her. Small
in her size, but enormous in her heart. We all love her very
much and are only comforted by the thought that she does
feel much better now and has lots of appetite again. She can
now play with the ones that went before her and when the
time comes for us to cross over we will certainly see her
again, we know she will be waiting there for us :)

The Rainbow Brigde

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge, because of its many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land
of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, they go to this place.
There is always food, water and warm spring weather.
Those old and fail animals are young going again.
Those who have been maimed are made whole again.
They play all day with each other. But there is only one
thing missing. They are not with their special person.
Who loved them on Earth. So, each day they run and
play until the day comes when one suddenly stops
playing and looks up. The nose twitches, the ears are up,
the eyes are staring... And this one suddenly runs from the group.
You have been seen And when you and your special friend meet.
You take them in your arms... and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again And again you look once more
into the eyes of your trusting pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.

Knitted Shawl

I knitted this shawl out of this gorgeous material, it did not
knit gorgeously, in fact it knitted quite difficult, but the result
is super. It is soft and very girly and the colours are beautiful.

Knitted Hats

What do you want most when it is cold outside ?
A warm knitted hat ofcourse ! Well, i think so in
any case. So i have been knitting lots (it is an easy
knit) of this kind of hats and will show four of them here.

Sylvanian Rabbit

The Sylvanian Families. I have as long as i know been
a sucker for those sweet little critters. But i wanted something
different, so i bought some Fake-Sylvanians (real ones are just
too expensive) and i already altered one of them, it is now
a VERY pink rabbit with a tutu and a tiny handbag.

Three Kings

Maybe i am a bit early with this craft, or else quite late,
but this is the first of the Three Kings, or Wisemen if you
will. He is made from a pinecone, not the rough type of
cone if you understand what i mean. It is not a difficult
craft to make but i really enjoy doing these kind of dolls
because they are just too cute !

ATC's : birds

It is lovely weather so one more spring-ATC
with a bird. Outside the birds are singing and i
thought i might just convey that onto an ATC :)

A Blue Friend

Remember that i made a Pink Cat and a Green Rabbit
for my sister a while ago ? Well, she was overjoyed, but
... NOT CONTENT. I am joking ofcourse, but she really
wanted the small Blue Friend to join the Pink Cat and the
Green Rabbit. So here it is, the critter called Blue Friend !
I hope the three of them will live happily ever after :D

Krimpie Dinkie Tryout

Tried out some yoghurt-cup-shrinking and the

results are these strangely formed objects. The

ones i am most happy with are the two on the right

and they are very thick :D They are made out of the

bottom of a yoghurt-cup or container, or whatever

you want to call it. I shall go on with experimenting

with this free Shrinking Plastic and keep you posted.

Mah-Jong family

As i mentioned before, our family is very fond of the
game Mahjong. My cousin is on his way to become
a real Mahjong-celebrity even ! He is going to take
over the organisation of a dutch tournament called
the White Dragon Tournament, so i think that is
worth a congratulation :D

She Knits Socks !

A while ago my friend Jenifer started knitting and
she is now totally hooked (har har). She has finished
her first pair of socks and is working on the second,
i am betting she never expected this. Check out this
photograph to see how she is doing :

Soft Lights

I made these lights out of glass jars, baking paper, some
yarn and pinecones. If you think they look nice now, you
should see them when there is a light burning in them !

Easter Twigs

I decorated the easter twigs today, with colourful eggs,
pompom chicks and yellow feathers. It is a tradition that
goes back to the 19th century and symbolises the expectation
of flowers in the spring. I just think it looks really festive.
You could also use different colour feathers, but i stuck to
yellow.

Easter Cards

These are this year's easter cards i made. Mainly out of
scrapbookpaper. I love scrapbookpaper even if i am not
a scrapper, but who knows what still lies in the future for
me ! Never say never.

First ATC's

I found some scans of the first ever ATC's i made,
how much fun is that ! I can say with a hand on my
heart that i have come a long way, and that is meant
positively :D

Junk Journal

Corien and myself followed a workshop some time ago
about making a Junk Journal. At the time is was not a
huge succes, but i now feel like i would like to try out
this technique again. In a Junk Journal all the pages are
different and made from junk and/or scraps, so again
it is only your imagination that sets your boundaries.
