Deltares Holiday Fair

My sister and myself organised a Holiday Fair at my sister's
work yesterday, the Deltares Holiday Fair. There were lots of
people who have small businesses and it was lots of fun to get
to know them. There were lots of different products : bags,
jewellery, chocolate, beauty products and so on. We had a lot
of fun and are hoping to organise a fair next year too.

Lichtjesavond 2012

Every year on the first tuesday after Sinterklaas, there is an
evening called Lichtjesavond (Evening of Lights) in the city
centre of Delft.

The Christmas tree on the town square is lit and there are lots
of things to see and do. Here is a photographic impression
of past Evenings of Lights.

More Christmas Fairs

Yesterday we went to four more Christmas Fairs : in Gorssel, Exel,
Diepenheim and Almen. All were great although the fair in Almen
was very small.

In Diepenheim we were treated to a bird of prey.show by two guys
from Valkenvlucht. They had lots of birds of prey and owls and we
got to hold them !

Weekend of christmas fairs

Today the weather was icy cold and sunny, there was snow
on the ground so it was perfect to go visit some christmas fairs.

We went to visit two christmas fairs today, one in the
town of Doesburg which was really great. We had hot
chocolate, gluhwein and raisinbread in De Bonte Os, which
is a very cosy livingroom-like cafe and we ate lunch in the
Martinichurch : ryebread wich bacon and peasoup. Afterwards
we went to Neede, but that fair we can not recommend, for
starters it was indoors and secondly there were a lot of stalls
that were not christmas related at all.

Tomorrow we will be visiting four more fairs : in Almen,
Gorssel and Exel. Lots of fun !!
